The Terzani Lighting Story

Founded in 1972, Terzani is a Florence-based lighting company that seamlessly blends Tuscan craftsmanship with contemporary designs. When he started the company, Sergio Terzani envisioned a lighting brand that was as modern as it was traditional. When his son Nicolas Terzani joined him as CEO, he brought to the table his own ideas and willingness to venture into daringly eccentric designs in the Terzani labs. The father-son duo established this brand with a logo that cites ‘everything is light’. They follow the philosophy of treating light as more than just an accessory for a room instead they regard it as the very spirit and essence that gives life to interiors.

The secret behind the brand’s international success is the use of an exceptionally creative design team and frequent collaborations with an impressive list of recognised designers the likes of Nigel Coates, Bruno Rainaldi, Maurizio Galante, Jean-Francois Crochet, Christian Lava and Dodo Arslan. As a result, they’ve produced a number of collections that have revolutionised the world of lighting. 

To illustrate this sentiment, Terzani’s Atlantis collection designed by Barlas Baylar uses hundreds of delicately draped chains that pivot with the fluid grace of silk. The Mizu collection, on the other hand, takes inspiration from drops of water and is one of the many organic designs initiated by Nicolas Terzani himself.
