How It Works

Stage 1.

The initial consultation is free and can happen face to face in our showroom or over the phone.

If possible, please bring / email a rough floor plan of the room(s) you want to discuss - please also send us photos of the rooms if possible.

The initial stage is all about us understanding exactly what you need.

We offer a complete, end to end service including architectural & building services, if required.

We represent a number of factories that supply doors, wooden flooring, tiles, kitchens & bathrooms, if required.

The first consultation is to figure out the scope of work - do you need us to help you with just a simple 2D space planning exercise or do you need a complete project managed refurbishment plan, or something in-between?

A number of questions will be answered by the end of the first consultation, after which we will have a much better idea of how we can help.

We will then discuss our interior design fees with you which usually start at £500.

 

Stage 2.

Once we begin the project, we will usually need to visit site to take final measurements and photos.

Depending on the size and scope of the project, it can be anything from 1 to 3 weeks before we are ready with the initial presentation.

Our approach to interior design is perhaps more analytical than traditional london interior designers. Over the years we’ve worked with thousands of clients and whilst every project is unique, we have always found a common factor that presents itself: "this looks great in the showroom but what will it look like in my house?"

We have used various techniques to make the decision making process easier from mood boards to line drawings; from templating the floors of rooms to hand drawn representations. All these methods helped but were never 100% perfect. Technology has changed all this.

Our highly skilled team can now present you with photorealistic images of your house, completely refurbished, before you purchase a thing. Walk through your new living room before you commit to a thing. Experiment with different styles and finishes; try our different wallpapers, furniture and lighting solutions.

Without The Risk Of Making A Mistake.

Our unique 3D design service is chargeable but is fully refundable when clients purchase a certain amount of furniture from us as part of the project.

Once we have agreed a design fee for your project we will agree a start date based on a site visit date or receipt date of autocad plans.

To clarify, we can either work from your (architects) plans or visit site to take dimensions ourselves.

If you can provide us with autocad plans and elevations for your property it will save us from having to visit site to measure and consequently reduce the design fee.

Please note – we will only accept autacad plans – pdfs, jpegs or similar are not suitable for our use.

Once we have the first phase of your drawings ready, we’ll invite you into the showroom for a design meeting where, we will carry out the first presentation.

The time frame for first presentation will vary depending on the size of project and should be discussed on a project by project basis.

We usually aim to have the first presentation meeting within 14 days of the site visit (or receipt date of autocad plans)

During the presentation you will give us feedback and we will make notes to implement any agreed changes to the design as appropriate.

You are entitled to make as many changes and amendments to your design (within reason!!) but all changes have to be made during design meetings at the showroom.

Depending on the size of your project, we may have up to four or five design meetings before we finalise all aspects of the design. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes its quicker. There is no fixed timeframe, however we usually aim to complete the design stage of the project within 3 weeks of the first presentation.

We can help you with your lighting, AV selections, floor treatments, wall treatments and curtains and blinds where necessary. (at trade prices)

Once the design phase is completed we will present you with a quote for the supply and installation of the furniture.

Please note – there is no obligation to order the furniture with fci, although if you do , we will refund you a portion of your design fee.

If you do not proceed with the order for the entire project, the design fee cannot be refunded or used to big single items.
