Chat NowFama has always been an innovator when it comes to designing furniture, and they have historically produced models that are relevant and trending even today. The celebrated Felix Lopez Gil designed many of their early sofas. He joined the company in the early 80s and helped develop many designs that established the brand’s reputation in the industry of modern furniture. Today he is the company’s managing director and continues to lead the company to newer heights of success.
There are several designs produced around the brand’s earlier years that are worth mentioning such as the Sissi, Odeon and Paula. In fact, the Tomy armchair was a relatively novel concept when it was launched and the world was still used to sofas for their lounging needs. Today, it is one of Fama’s most widely sought after products and is often replicated by other companies.
The curvaceous Platon sofa became a head-turner in 1998, and its huge international demand paved the way for Fama’s mass exports to other countries.
La Caracola launched in 1999 became part of Fama’s identity due to its generous seating, swirling telephone table and eccentric design – it was even a part of the brand’s logo for many years. Although the design is modern even by today’s standards, the telephone table has now been updated to an accessory area.
The smart Moon recliner (reinvented today as the Moonrise) and the graceful Pauline chaise won hearts as the perfect spot for a leisurely nap or everyday lounging needs.
The expansive Dolcevita and Nimbo modular sofas have been immensely popular amongst interior designers as they allow for easy handling and bespoke interior designing.
Many of these designs have been updated to include newer technologies and grace the homes, offices, hotel and restaurants of many people who prioritise quality, aesthetics and comfort. Some of their best-selling models include the capitonné-backed Avalon recliner sofa which takes inspiration from the 70s, the genius Mancor corner sofa with multi-positional backs to cater to all needs, the snug, swivelling Lenny which comes with a footstool for added relaxation, and the Helsinki which is the perfect fusion of traditional and modern.
One of the best qualities of a Fama product is that you can completely customise it from start to end, which is an excellent bonus for those who enjoy a bit of creative control over their interiors. You can have your sofas tailor-made to perfection with your choice of size and dimensions, material and colours. The armrests, backrests, and storage options are adjustable as well. This flexibility is advantageous if you have tricky and peculiar colour combinations or want to go for a specific look that’s not readily available on the market.
Fama Living makes a point of causing as little environmental damage as possible to protect the planet from harm. They recycle 98% of their waste, sustainably source their raw materials, and waste minimal amounts of energy and resources. All their products are free of TDI and PFCs to ensure that they do not cause their clients to inhale hazardous chemicals. Environmental enthusiasts, therefore, buy their products with complete ease of mind thanks to their transparency relating to how it sources materials and the production methods it uses – all cited on their website.
Another impressive fact about the brand is how in touch they remain with the current situation and adapt with ease and flexibility. Since the COVID19 outbreak, they launched the Fama Protect program to ensure the utmost safety for all their employees and clients alike. This quick response shows that they not only care about their work but about their people as well and in times of crisis, a little care goes a long way. They created protective equipment that could be washed and reused to cause minimal environmental damage at a time where most of the options were disposable only.
Fama Sofas was awarded as most innovative SME of Spain and the 4.0 Industry National Award for their visible efforts in effective digitalisation. In fact, their production process utilises technology for a quick and efficient process which is controlled in real-time. They also have the largest 3D printer in Europe, which will allow them to play with materials and shapes that may have previously been impossible to achieve. Moreover, it will allow them to print out prototypes in record time with decreased costs. All these innovative measures enable them to make a sofa every two minutes! Nonetheless, the brand stresses the importance of their expert team as their most significant asset, and further demonstrates their compassion towards their employees.
Fama Living seeks to promote family values and intimacy for their clients through their products. According to their managing director and designer, Felix Lopez, “Our intention has always been to try to make it easier for parents to reconcile work and family. Try to help them somehow, giving them a bit of tranquillity everyday”. Today, they join the family of FCI London as one of our esteemed furniture manufacturers.
With Fama, you’re not just ensured that timeless design would add aesthetic depth to your space, but you will also be impressed with the superior quality made to last you a lifetime. In fact, they offer a lifetime warranty on their frames and a 10-year warranty for their webbing. They use only the most long-lasting raw materials and compile them with great care and technique so that ‘FamaLovers’ get a product that lasts a long time and becomes an essential part of their lives.
