Il Pezzo Mancante is a brand that really speaks for itself, claiming to be "the missing piece in your collection". This is because the 2010 born company claims to achieve a different kind of product lineup, thanks to their effort in bringing fresh ideas to the market. Their products aren't like any other traditional design piece you'll likely see in saloons and other design parlors, but rather, they are standalone "pezzi" (pieces) that really discern a difference between what good and bad design are. These are good, very good, there's no doubt about it.
Although you will see a lot of golden flair sprayed out throughout the overall design, this doesn't mean that the products result to be kitsch or "heavy": instead, they take on a life of their own, they realize their full potential by not taking any sidestep in their ways to a client's house. Chandeliers, tabletops, sideboards, chairs, wardrobes, you name it. Cosimo Terzani and Barbara Bertocci - the designers that work on every single "pezzo" - are the masterminds behind such precise and culturally tailored work, providing once again for the excellence of "Made in Italy" designs.
Translates to The Missing Piece, Il Pezzo Mancante designs and crafts handmade furniture and lights intended for refined interior spaces. Exquisite and luxurious, their products are definitely the missing piece in your interior design and setup.
But the phrase best describes the company’s continuous search for something missing and creating a solution to fill that void.
Created by Cosimo Terzani and Barbara Bertocci in 2010, Il Pezzo Mancante was born out of the founders’ passion for quality raw materials. The goal was to create a world where that is authentic and showcases the rich artisan culture. With their handcrafted products that can double as works of art, creating such a luxurious and refined setting is more than possible.
Il Pezzo Mancante Design and Production
As an atelier, Il Pezzo Mancante designs and creates pieces that are unique, tactile, and visually appealing using only the finest of materials – hand-blown crystal, solid wood, brass castings, finest Carrara marble, and so much more.
A small team of people in the Florence-based atelier is responsible for every handcrafted piece. They mix hand planning and finishing and traditional techniques with computer aided manufacturing processes to create unique pieces.
The wood used in production are black stained solid ash, dark stained carved wood, solid ash, solid black walnut, and solid Wengè, while the metal finishes are available in polished and matte. Choose from gold, black nickel, bronze shadow, nickel, satin brass, light bronze and rose bronze.
Marble, on the other hand, is a choice between Carrara and Marquinia. As for upholstery, there are several leather and velvet fabrics to choose from in various colours.
Il Pezzo Mancante has a showroom where clients can touch and see with their own eyes every masterpiece, smell the essential oils used to treat wood, and view the many variations of the finishes available.
