The history of Cattelan Italia can be traced back to the 1950s, in a small north-east Italian town of Thiene, where Giorgio Cattelan, the youngest of the seven brothers, started assisting at his father’s workshop.
Giorgio had always shared his father’s passion for the art of furniture and with the passage of time, it continued to grow.
Eventually, in 1979, Giorgio and his wife, Silvia Cattelan, officially founded Cattelan Italia - a brand dedicated to the art of modern Italian furniture - where Giorgio put to use his creative energies while Silvia handled the organisational aspects.
Within a few years, Cattelan Italia became known around the world - in particular for its marble and crystal dining tables.
By 1995, Giorgio and Silvia’s sons, Paolo and Lorenzo Cattelan had also joined the family business, guided by their parents’ love for furniture.
Since 2014, Paolo has been heading the company and guiding it to emerge as a world leader when it comes to contemporary furniture.
The latest Cattelan Italia collections continue to surprise with their precise attention to detail and high-quality construction while being ductile and adaptable to a variety of aesthetic and spatial needs.
The extensive collection of high-quality designs for the living area by Cattelan Italia includes transparent or decorative glass, finely shaped wood, intriguing ceramics, lacquered or hand-brushed finishes, soft upholstery, and excellent leathers.

Chat NowIn 2014, Cattelan Italia took a new approach and, addressing the public demand, decided to launch the Keramik collection. The Skorpio table was the first model of this collection and eventually, it became the stylistic icon symbol of the brand.
Today, the table is customisable in a range of base finishes and different options for the top, including glass, wood and keramik. Even after almost a decade, it continues to be one of Cattelan Italia’s most recognisable products, encapsulating the essence of elegant Italian modernism.
Cattelan Italia is known for collaborating with renowned names in the design industry and the Pluto coffee table is the result of another such collaboration.
Designed by Yasuhiro Shito, one of Italy’s best designers, this table is the perfect example of a product that’s designed specifically for modern interiors.
It’s available in different metallic finishes, all with a characteristic, hand-brushed detailing.
What stands out the most is how the curves of this table bring warmth and personality to the space.
Designed by the maestro, Giorgio Cattelan himself, this is a modular bookcase which is considered iconic because it expresses the true Cattelan Italia essence.
Inspired by geometric elements, it is the most finely manufactured bookcase that you will find in the market and it adapts perfectly in any room.
The defining feature of this bookcase are its pillars which run from the floor to the ceiling, giving it a regal look.
This is one of Cattelan Italia’s latest yet groundbreaking products. Designed in 2022, in collaboration with Studio Kronos, this lamp features archs in varying sizes that can be used individually or installed in combinations to intersect in mid-air for a visual treat.
As we discussed above, Cattelan Italia has a strong focus on functionality which is why this lamp comes with a remote and a dimmer so the user can fully enjoy this luxury experience.
Despite its minimalistic style, this is the kind of lamp which immediately catches your attention.
Andrea Lucatello is known for his industrial approach towards design and it can be thoroughly observed in the Thriller lamp that he designed for Cattelan Italia in 2010.
This extraordinarily innovative lamp looks just like a sculptural masterpiece that brings sophistication to interiors. The original and unique design makes it an iconic Cattelan Italia product.
In 2020, Cattelan Italia launched its new CrystalArt collection which included many products, featuring a sparkling crystal top.
The collection included a number of dining tables and only one sideboard, which is why it continues to be a popular, groundbreaking product.
The Crystalart printed glass at the front of this sideboard has a very marble-like look but with the brightness of crystal making it a product that becomes the focal point of any space.
Dylan is another one of Cattelan Italia’s novelties because of its unconventional, futuristic design. Conceived by Andrea Lucatello in 2007, this is a fully upholstered bed with a structure that seems to be defying gravity.
Because of its chromed steel feet, this bed gives off an illusion of floating in air - giving it a very light and airy look that is perfect for modern bedrooms.
