Giuseppe Vigano's Auto-Reverse Sofa for Arketipo Firenze is one of those designs that makes you wonder why nobody thought of it sooner. The concept is deceptively simple: reversible cushions, constructed with a four-way zip system, that present fabric on one side and leather on the other. Flip them, and your sofa transforms entirely.
This particular model measures 261cm wide, upholstered in D/4941 fabric on one face and Pelle A/2530 leather on the reverse. The slim metal frame gives it an almost floating quality, while the signature perimeter flounces add a tactile softness that prevents the piece from feeling overly architectural. It is a sofa with a dual personality, suited to anyone who appreciates versatility without sacrificing sophistication.

In practice, the Auto-Reverse is ideal for a living space that serves multiple moods. The leather side offers a more structured, formal presentation for evenings when you are hosting. The fabric side invites a more relaxed posture for quiet weekend afternoons. Two atmospheres from a single investment, and no redecorating required.
If there is a single sofa that captures the spirit of twenty-first century Italian design, Francesco Binfare's On The Rocks Sofa for Edra is a strong contender. Inspired by the rocky archipelagos of the Mediterranean coast, this is less a conventional sofa and more a landscape for living.
At 600cm wide with a depth ranging from 152 to 155cm, the On The Rocks commands serious floor space. Four independent seating elements in different geometric shapes combine with two freestanding backrests that can be repositioned wherever you please. The entire composition is constructed using Edra's patented Gellyfoam technology, a next-generation polyurethane material that eliminates rigid internal structures whilst delivering remarkable support.

Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri's Pacific Sofa for Ditre Italia takes its cues from the natural world. Overlapping, rounded volumes create a fluid silhouette that feels almost geological, as though the sofa were shaped by water rather than an upholsterer's workshop. The sculptural three-dimensional form gives it a presence that photographs alone cannot fully convey.
This three-seater measures 269cm wide, 97cm deep, and 84cm high, upholstered in Cat. M Blue Scuro fabric with a light brown base. Beneath the enveloping curves lies a robust structure of solid fir and plywood, with pre-tensioned polypropylene elastic suspension ensuring that the comfort lasts well beyond the initial impression.
Reduced from £7,365 to £4,787, the Pacific suits contemporary homes that value organic forms and a certain artistic confidence. It is the kind of piece that prompts guests to ask where you found it.
Not every room calls for a grand gesture. The Gregg three-seater by Valore is a study in quiet refinement. Clean lines, premium COM fabric upholstery, and slender black legs create a sofa that integrates seamlessly into a considered interior without demanding all the attention.
At 202cm wide, 100cm deep, and 79cm high, the Gregg occupies a sensible footprint. It is the sort of piece you choose when the architecture of the room or a striking artwork should take precedence, and the seating needs to complement rather than compete. Sometimes the most sophisticated choice is the one that knows when to step back.

For those furnishing an entire sitting room or seeking coordinated seating across connected spaces, the Sophia Italian sofa set offers a compelling proposition. The collection includes a two-seater (reduced from £3,559 to £1,424), a 2.5-seater (reduced from £4,018 to £1,607), and an armchair (reduced from £2,069 to £828).
At these prices, the complete suite represents a rare opportunity. The Sophia's classic Italian proportions and refined upholstery make it particularly well suited to drawing rooms, studies, or master bedrooms where an additional seating area adds both comfort and character.
Purchasing from an ex-display collection requires a slightly different eye than commissioning a bespoke piece. Here is how we recommend approaching it.
Start with the frame. Sit on the sofa and pay attention. Any creaking or instability suggests structural wear that may not be immediately visible. Quality sofas from reputable Italian makers are engineered to last decades, and a few months in a showroom should have zero impact on the frame's integrity.
Next, inspect the upholstery under good light. Look for any fading, particularly on surfaces that may have been exposed to showroom lighting. Minor variations are entirely normal and will not affect longevity. Structural pilling, pulls, or staining are a different matter and worth noting.
Then test the cushion resilience. Press firmly into the seat and back cushions, then release. Quality foam and fill should recover its shape within moments. Slow recovery or any lasting indentation indicates compromised cushioning, something you are unlikely to encounter with the calibre of makers we stock, but always worth checking.
