Kristalia was founded in 1994, 24 years ago to be exact. They've had a lot of time in their hands to improve and make of their company a real player and they haven't disappointed on any of the key points of interior design success. Their philosophy goes around what's called "Jazz living" because the founders were all fairly passionate Jazz lovers. The company, like many others in the design industry, was founded in Friuli, an Italian region known for its many excellences in this department.
"Jazz living" is exactly what it sounds like, that is, it sounds like... Jazz! Soft tones, mellow notes and groovy rhythms all mix together to become one smooth line of simple pleasure, giving the listener a sensation of pure bliss, while also making of the actual performance a true masterpiece. That is exactly what Kristalia strived to achieve with their pieces: soft, curvy, pleasurable angles that are plushy to the touch and that feel comfortable just by looking at them. Their product lineup is one of a kind, with tables, chairs and beds that are tailor made for the modern human being.
Modern interiors require equally modern furnishings that bear one vital aspect – minimalism. This doesn’t mean boring, however. If there’s one thing contemporary furniture pieces and accessories are, subtle yet quirky will be it. They’re practical and functional as well. What Kristalia offers clients, however, are furnishings centred on design and jazz. Yes, a true quirky combination worthy of a focal point in your home.
The Kristalia History
Established in 1994, Kristalia is a furniture company established by young entrepreneurs from Friuli, with a passion for design and jazz, both of which are evident in all Kristalia products. The firm has set its eyes on innovative design projects, borrowing design ideas and materials from sports and fashion. The goal of innovation required experimentation and research for new technical solutions.
Kristalia presented its first catalogue in the autumn of 1995. This also marked the start of the company’s collaboration with Alberto Collovati. The catalogue had a very warm reception, primarily because it met the needs for contemporary furnishings without eliminating traditional styles.
Kristalia continues to collaborate with well-known designers for different collections – with IriamBettera for Taurus, with MoniaGraffeo for Chair, with Bartoli Design for Bird, and with Lucidepevere for Plana.
When a definitive company organisation was created by the end of the 1990s, Kristalia took a different path with the goal to attract consumers looking for furnishings with links to Italian innovation and international design.
The Kristalia Craftsmanship
What kept Kristalia on solid ground, even in a competitive global market, is its commitment to inspiring principles. It made them outstanding and sets it apart from other brands.
The company takes pride in its expertise and confidence in using design and manufacturing technologies, regardless of how increasingly complex they become. In all its collections, they also maintain product consistency. Although they support freedom of expression, creativity must adhere to formal minimalism, specific to contemporary furnishings, and all its products must have credibility. This is why, even with a unique design, all Kristalia products are easily recognisable and versatile in terms of settings and placement.
Kristalia also does their share in preserving the environment, ensuring that all of its activities, from processes to services, have a minimum ecological impact. They use renewable and recyclable materials, such as wood, glass, steel, aluminium and polypropylene, to create furnishings with a conscience and a heart.
The company also strives to provide products with maximum durability and quality, for long-lasting use. This is advantageous from an eco-friendly point of view – no need to buy a replacement in just a matter of years, and no need to throw away furniture items that can take up space in landfills.
Kristalia is now led by a team of motivated people with the same passion for innovative design, and the enthusiasm to be involved in the company’s development programmes.
