Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann first established Miele & Cie., a factory where cream separators are manufactured with only eleven employees. A year after, the company produced a butter churn. In the succeeding years, Miele manufactured a washing machine with an agitator mounted on the lid, the first electric-powered washing machine, motorcars, the first water-powered washing machine, hand carts, and dairy equipment.
When the company expanded in 1924 in Bielefeld, they added bicycles into its production programme. They also made gas-powered washing machines, canister vacuum cleaner, and a host of other innovations in their existing and new product lines.
To date, Miele continues to produce domestic appliances and commercial equipment that go with the times, integrating wireless LAN technology and programmable features.
