Romano Conficconi founded Cierre with his wife Cesarina in 1972. He remained the president for several decades before alternating with his brother. Romano was responsible for growing the production department, starting with only a few employees and then to one hundred.
But he is mostly well-known for incorporating the entire production cycle within the company. From working with unprocessed raw materials to product assembly, the entire process was done in one place.
As a family-run company, other members play a vital role. Stefano Conficconi is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cierre Imbottiti, Alberto Conficconi is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Gianmaria Conficconi is part of the creative department and the first member of the third generation of the family to be involved in Cierre.
The Cierre workshop consists of highly skilled workers who can produce high-quality products and good results. The company has 130 artisans that work together to deliver sophisticated and innovative products, resulting from an unbridled imagination and professionalism. Coupled with the desire for innovation and Cierre brings to the market upholstered furniture that showcases the passion and skills of the people behind it.

Stefano Conficconi is not only Chairman of the Board but also the designer of the Cierre’s main collections and deals first-hand with the leather used in the company production.
In terms of design, inspirations are drawn from the surrounding environment and the many elements found in it. Based on them, unique and original designs are made.
Water is the basis for some of Cierre’s creative concepts that bring purity and transparency to any space. Music inspired a new collection with pop-chic influence. Japanese Haiku’s short and poetic lines resulted in a collection of delicate volumes and clear-cut lines.
