It was just a matter of time that the company later invested in state-of-the-art machinery and specialised in the production of tubular metal. This led to an extended range of products that showcased the use of cutting-edge machine processes.
In 1971, Bonaldo first made an appearance at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. It also marked the transition of its product range that includes home furnishings suited for the living area. During the 80s, Bonaldo founded Styling, a company that specialised in transformable upholstered furniture items, such as convertible sofas and sofa beds. Bonaldo also went on to set up a variety of companies that led to further growth of its product and its first collection of beds. It was in 2006, when the three main companies — Bonaldo Spa, Styling Srl and Led & Co. Srl, merged as one.
For over 70 years, Bonaldo has transformed ideas into designs that generate excitement and make people fall in love with at first sight. As a company with intimate knowledge and experience with the use and processing of tubular metal, it has continuously developed modernity and new skills that enabled them to use a variety of materials, including wood, glass, stone, plastic and natural cement. Its padded products also underwent a transition to include new upholstery and finishes. The three generations of dedication and commitment, have made the company a major benchmark in the furniture industry. Bonaldo is a prime example of what Made in Italy really means. Even when products are distributed abroad, everything is made in Italy to ensure authenticity and high quality, which is a result of the strictest control process.
Apart from authenticity and craftsmanship, Bonaldo is known for creating modern and eclectic products. In 1996, Bonaldo won the Young & Design Award for the folding chair Piu design by Chiaramonte and Marin. In 2010, the Big Table was recognised all over the world as the iconic example of a Bonaldo product. It is highly admired for its innovative approach to reinventing a classic dining table. In 2013, a few of its tables bagged different awards. The Still Table, Bartoli design, received the Red Dot Design Award and the 2012 Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum. The Welded Table received the "Best of the Best" Red Dot Design Award. In 2014, the Octa Table received the 2013 Good Design Award.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Bonaldo has established itself as a truly international company. Along with it is the plan to explore and rework the trends of contemporary living, start a new system of communication to clients, and establish a retail network around the globe. As a company that obtained the prestigious Forest certification from the Forest Stewardship Council and the ISO 9001 quality certification for its entire production system and organisation, there is little doubt that Bonaldo is the brand name that you can trust when it comes to high quality chairs and furnishings.
This only shows that Bonaldo has gone a long way from creating bedsteads to a whole collection of high quality furniture items, yet still maintain its mark of craftsmanship and ingenuity. If it is Bonaldo, you know it is made in Italy and it is guaranteed to inspire love at first sight.
