When looking for a dining table, try to initially answer the following questions:
1. Extending or fixed? Obviously, extending tables allow for greater flexibility BUT then also tend to cost more.
2. Size. What are the minimum and maximum sizes your room will allow (open and shut in the case of an extending table)
3. Glass, wood, stone or lacquer?
4. Budget.
